The idea behind this website has come from various sources.
Firstly, when I read Dr Alastair Noble’s book “Born in a Golden Age” I thought it would translate well into a website where each section of his life would be easily accessed, since it was so interesting. While I am not as well known, as eloquent, or as interesting as Alastair, I thought it might be a good idea to experiment with my own website.
Secondly, I wanted a website I could play around with using different tools without it being a crucial website for someone else. It doesn’t matter if I break something, and I can try different modules on the back end before implementing them on other websites.
Thirdly, being involved in the Memories Scotland project brought to my attention how important memories are, especially as we get older and they begin to fade. I wanted to keep a record of important stages in my life in a way that was easily accessible for myself and family. Since I am not a writer, the best way for me was to put it in a website.
My mother wrote a book about her life and gave copies to her grandchildren. This is my version of a book.
I know it will benefit me as I get older, and I hope it helps my family, who mean the world to me.
